Our Mission
The Hispanic Women's Resource Center aims to help strengthen Latina Women in the Morris County area by:

Providing the necessary tools in the Spanish language so that they can discover their talents and abilities

Guiding them on a path full of resources and opportunities

Helping them focus on developing professional skills and thus gaining a stable work environment and a scope of economic independence

Improving their quality of life and that of their families.

Most importantly, they have been learning new techniques in order to face life's daily challenges.
Maria Rojas Botero is currently serving as the Program Director for the Hispanic Women’s Resource Center, under the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs (MCOHA).

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language from Universidad del Quindío, Colombia (2011) and validated in the US by World Education International (2018). DADC training in a partnership with County College of Morris and Rutgers University (2019). Maria has been in the non-profit field for 6 years where she has gained experience in Social Work, Social Justice and Advocacy. Her past experiences include working as a Residential Support Staff, Program Associate and Women’s program Case Manager at Homeless Solutions Inc. In her desired to promote selfcare among the women she serves, Maria became a certified 200 hours Yoga Teacher in December 2022 by Abhaya Yoga Studio in Brooklyn NY. Working for the community has become her passion, especially serving the population of Hispanic Women by helping them achieve their goals and personal wellness.

Maria V. Colon is the Assistant Director and Case Manager for The Hispanic Women's Resource Center at Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs (MCOHA). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Elizabeth University where she double majored in Psychology and Social Work (2022). Before becoming the program’s Assistant Director/Case Manager, Maria interned for The Hispanic Women’s Resource Center under STEU’s accredited Social Work program (2021-2022). She was offered the position at MCOHA prior to finishing her internship because she excelled with professional comitment, cultural competence, critical thinking, empathy and compassion. Maria is always advocating for the expansion of resources for the center's clients and creating an expanded networking agenda where she manages various workshops with an expanded curriculum based on topics such as mental health, financial freedom, and self-care.
She strives to bring mental health awareness and target the lack of resources for the Latinx population she serves.
